Additive Manufacturing

F.A.T.I. Engineering is engaging in 3D-printing, also known as additive manufacturing (AM), which is one of the most innovative and fast methods to turn an idea, designed with CAD 3D, into a net shape component able to meet the physical and aesthetic serial product needs. Using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and Selective Layer Sintering (SLS), we are producing a growing list of parts for numerous industries, making strong components with less material waste than traditional manufacturing processes, e.g. machining. Less waste perfectly ts with our “green” philosophy of respecting the environment.

Our additive manufacturing machines allow us to produce complex custom shapes, even intricate objects, with variable porosity, with geometries otherwise not feasible, signi cantly reducing the time to market. What is more, not only we are able to supply any kind of prototype within a short time-frame (rapid prototyping) but we have the resources for mass production of complex components.

F.A.T.I. Engineering manufactures models using different materials, mainly Titanium, Cobalt-Chrome, Aluminium, Nikel-based superalloys and Polyamide.

Many industries use AM products such as aerospace (e.g. concept modeling and prototyping, low volume components), automotive (e.g. rapid prorotyping and manufacturing of net shape components, parts and assemblies for car/moto racing), healtcare – dental and medical (e.g. prothesis, implants) and consumer goods (e.g. make & test, jewelry, design, customised pieces, pre series and final series).
